Microsoft periodically releases updates to their Windows Operating System, in order to patch (fix) any bugs or security flaws that have been detected. After latest Windows patch upgrade to KB5014697 (for Windows 11) & KB5014699 (for Windows 10) , users are not able to use internet on Windows machine after sharing Ethernet over Wi-Fi from Network sharing option or vice-versa. For example, after open the Mobile hotspot and connect to this network with your mobile phone, your Laptop/Pc internet will be cut off instantly.
But Mobile hotspot will continue to broadcast. It seems there is a serious BUG. Microsoft admitted it is a bug. You can not fix this issue with followings;
1. Reset Network Settings
2. Reset modem
3. using Network Troubleshooting Tool
The only solution is removing the last KB Fix. If you use Windows 11 , run CMD with Administrator privileges and use the following code.
wusa /uninstall /kb:5014697
If you use Windows 10 use the following code
wusa /uninstall /kb:5014699
