If you’re using a recent version of Microsoft’s Edge browser, you might have noticed that the way URLs copy and paste has changed. Because Microsoft has launched a new default way to copy and paste web URLs from the Edge browser address bar into your content. The Smart Copy function, allows users among other things to preserve the text format when copying from a web. And means that you should have to spend less time reformatting after pasting. If you’re sending an email that you want to be nicely formatted with a hyperlink, then this might save you some time.
Example: URL copy & paste format
Hyperlinked title : Enable or Disable Settings Header in Windows 10 (ceofix.net)
Link: https://www.ceofix.net/3062/enable-or-disable-settings-header-in-windows-10
Depending on what you’re doing, thisfature might be helpful. But if you don’t want to use this feature, then you can simply disable it and continue using the plain text feature.
Configure Microsoft Edge’s Share, copy, and paste behavior when copying URLs from the address bar
To change how Edge handles copying and pasting links, click the button with the three dots on it to the right of the toolbar, and select “Settings” from the drop-down menu that appears.
Select “Share, copy, and paste” in the sidebar to the left.
Choose “link” if you wish to paste a hyperlinked web page title by default, or “Plain text” if you wish to paste the URL.
Alternatively
Without changing any settings it is possible to use the shortcut (instead of the usual Ctrl + V) Ctrl + Shift + V to paste the full address and not the title of the linked page.
That’s All
