How to reset Firefox
Note: Earlier one had the Reset Firefox button which essentially did the same, but in the recent versions, you have the Refresh Firefox feature.
1- Open Firefox.
2- Click the menu icon, then click on “Help”. And, from the Help menu, click on “Troubleshooting Information“.
3- Click Refresh Firefox at the top right corner on the Troubleshooting Information page.
4- It tells you that refreshing Firefox will remove your add-ons, customizations and restores default browser preferences. Click “Refresh Firefox”, and click Finish in the next dialog.
Firefox will close while it clears away the old data. After a few moments, it will reopen. Mozilla recommends that you delete the folder on your desktop called “Old Firefox Data.”
When you carry out this process, Firefox will:
Create a new profile folder.
Browser settings will be restored to their defaults.
Firefox settings and personal data will be stored in the new profile folder.
Resetting your browser settings will impact the settings below:
Default search engine and saved search engines will be reset and to their original defaults.
Extensions and themes will be removed.
Website permissions will be removed.
Toolbar customizations will be removed.
User styles will be removed.
The following settings are retained.
This refresh process does not affect your bookmarks, browsing and download history, passwords for websites, personal dictionary, and auto-fill information.
