Turn Keyboard Lighting On or Off

Backlit keyboards are designed to help out users when typing in low light conditions and most modern laptops today come with a keyboard equipped with a light. Depending on the model, your computer probably has a keyboard function to turn on or turn off the backlight. And it can vary wildly among laptop and peripheral manufacturers and even among different laptop lines from the same brand. This article describes how to enable and disable the backlit keyboard.

For Lenovo:
To turn on or off the backlight, press Fn + Spacebar or Esc on the keyboard to change the keyboard backlight mode. Press the keys again to change the modes.

Turn your keyboard’s backlighting on or off

For HP: You can press FN f5 or f4.

For Asus: For most Notebook models, the backlit function key is the F7 key. If it is available, it can enable the backlit by pressing FN and F7 keys (FN+F7 keys) at the same time. Pressing the FN+F7 keys continuously increases the brightness of the keyboard backlight and ultimately disables the backlight. For Gaming Notebook models, it’s generally on Up and Down keys. If they are available, they can enable the backlit by pressing FN and Up keys (FN+Up keys) at the same time

MSI: F5 or F4 key. In some models, it should be used with FN (Also Fn key and F10 key)

IMPORTANT:
In some cases, your backlight may not turn on due to low battery.
Make sure your laptop is charged to at least 75%.
