Notepad improvements for Windows 10 May 2019 Update
Modified indicator
Notepad will now show an asterisk (*) in the title bar before the title of a document to indicate that a document has unsaved changes.
New shortcuts are available
1- Ctrl + Shift + N — opens a new Notepad window.
2- Ctrl + Shift + S — opens the Save as… dialog.
3- Ctrl + W — closes the current Notepad window.
4- Notepad can also now save files with a path longer than 260 characters if you set a larger MAX_PATH on your system.
UTF-8 Encoding
Notepad can now save files in UTF-8 format without a Byte Order Mark, which is now the default. This makes Notepad more compatible with the web, where UTF-8 is the default, and it’s also backward compatible with traditional ASCII.

Hi Jan , what dou you want to do exactly ? do you want to change the Notepad default save format ?
There is a BUG in notepad.exe of the 1903 windows version.
Some applications of mine rely on an ANSI-textfile.
Therefore I select Save as .. ANSI when saving text with the 1903 notepad.exe
After some time the 1903 notepad.exe refuses to save the text in ANSI.
All textfiles are saved in UTF-8 regardless the selected encoding format.
This is very annoying.
