To Download Windows update manually, you can go to Microsoft site to get the updates on your own.
Checking and installing system updates are done automatically by Windows as a background process, manual intervention is not required for installing updates. In some cases, you can may have to roll back a glitchy update and manually reinstall just that patch later. Or maybe you want to install an update on an older machine that doesn’t have access to the internet. In both of these cases, the Microsoft Update Catalog may be just what you need.
How do I update Windows using Microsoft Update Catalog?
Open the Microsoft Update Catalog in any browser. Use the search bar at the top-right of the screen. You can search for general terms like Security, windows 11, windows 10 here, but those will likely bring up thousands of results. The most useful way to search the Update Catalog is by KB number. Every Windows Update has a number associated with it, such as KB4346087. Searching for this will bring up far fewer results.
Pay close attention to the operating system and version for the updates. Know if you’re on 64-bit or 32-bit Windows. To do that, right click This PC on your Desktop and select Properties from the right click menu and then you can View basic information about your computer.
Once you have your KB number or other details, enter those into the search box on the Microsoft Update Catalog site.
When you entered the KB number, you will see a wide variety of updates. (In my case, I’d need the Windows 11 64-bit version.)
Click the Download button on the right side.
This will spawn a new window with a link to download the update. Just click this text and choose a place to save it on your PC as you normally would.
After Downloading , Right click the msu file , then choose Properties from the list. Click on the General tab, check the Unblock box at the bottom, and click on OK.
Files ending in MSU are simple installers. Double-click one to open it or right click and click open.
Then follow the prompts to install it on your system.
