Usually, we have to install a third-party app to put a lock on apps like WhatsApp. But, you can lock the WhatsApp mobile app with your fingerprint on Android. This is an added level of security ,to help ensure you’re the only person who can access the WhatsApp app on your mobile device. Of course, you need a smartphone with a fingerprint sensor for this to work and the latest version of WhatsApp. The process is pretty straightforward, especially for users who already have a fingerprint registered for unlocking the phone.
Enable Fingerprint Lock in WhatsApp for Android
Firstly, open WhatsApp and tap on three dots at the top right corner. Next, select Settings from the menu that appears.
On the settings screen, tap on the Account section.
And then on the Privacy section. Scroll down to see all the options. Touch the Unlock with fingerprint sensor option to enable fingerprint lock, confirm the fingerprint, select when you like WhatsApp to automatically lock your chats, immediately, after 1 minute or after 30 minutes.
Fingerprint lock is only available on Android devices with a fingerprint sensor running Android 6.0+ that support the Google fingerprint API. Depending on the settings for fingerprint sensor in WhatsApp, it will automatically lock WhatsApp immediately, 1 minute or 30 minutes after you have switched to other apps.
