One of the most frustrating Windows issues is slow startup. If you would like to make your computer boot up faster from startup then you can do this by reducing or disabling the startup delay.
It does have certain apps set to launch while starting up your computer. These programs are known as Startup Items. These , comprises shortcuts, programs, folders, drivers, etc that run automatically when OS boots up. You may have selected the startup items yourself, or they are automatically added by applications or drivers during their installation. When you boot Windows it delays the launch of startup programs for ten seconds. This Startup delay is implemented to ensure all the necessary Windows services have finished loading. However, if you would like to make your computer boot up faster from startup then you can do this by disabling the startup delay.
How to make Windows faster?
Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run box.
Type “Regedit” in the text box and click on OK.
Now, browse to the below-mentioned key on the Registry Editor that comes up.
1 | HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Serialize |
Edit “Startupdelayinmsec” to reduce or disable startup delay. Double-click “Startupdelayinmsec” and enter in “Value data” the number of seconds you want to change the startup delay for autostart programs. If you choose “0” startup delay will be completely turned off. If you don’t see Serialize key, then create a one.
Open Registry Editor. When the Registry editor gets opened, you have to follow the path mentioned below:
1 | HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ |
Right-click on “Explorer” and then select “Key” from the “New” option. Once the new key is created, rename it “Serialize.”
