How To Disable or Enable The Google Meet tab in Gmail for Android
Google has added a separate new “Meet” tab in the Gmail mobile app. Google Meet is Google’s meeting and video-conferencing application. Google Meet is the latest version of Google’s Video Conferencing application that was once known as Hangouts Meet. This is a convenient tool for those whose work and personal lives require them to make many video calls, particularly if they don’t have their computer on hand. You can keep these tabs as it is if you use Google Meet regularly. But if you do not use Meet regularly and require more space to read emails, you can remove the Google Meet icon from the bottom of your inbox through the Gmail app’s settings.
How to remove Meet tab from Gmail on Android and iOS
Open the Gmail app on your Android phone or iPhone phone/ iPad. And tap the “3 lines” button located in the upper-left corner of the App. Then scroll down and tap “Settings”.
If you only have one Gmail account active in the app, tap on that address. You’ll need to individually disable the Meet tab for each of your email addresses, if in case you’ve multiple accounts. Scroll down until you find the Meet section. And disable the ‘Show the Meet tab for video calling’ option.
Now when you’re using the Gmail App on your Phone the Meet tab won’t be displayed. Now you can experience a less cluttered Gmail inbox! If you want to bring it back, just repeated these steps and tap the Show the Meet tab for video calling option once more.
