Different apps such camera, Cortana, Mail, calendar, maps, etc. tracks your device location to provide better results. How to Turn on-off Location on Windows 10 PC
1- Open Settings on Windows 10. To open Setting page , pressing Windows logo + I keyboard shortcut.
2- Click on Privacy, it will give you an option about Privacy of your computer.
3- Select Location from the list on the left side. Here you will be able to see many new option to turn off location history with your Windows 10 device. Underneath “Allow access to location on this device” click Change and, on the screen that appears, move the slider from On to Off.
Notes:
1- Location must be switched on for Cortana to work.
2- When the location is open, you can sometimes see the location icon on the taskbar.
How to Control Which Apps Can Access Your Location
If you’re happy to let Windows know your location, but want to control precisely which apps have access to this information, under the “Choose which apps can access your precise location” section, turn off the toggle switch for each app that you want to access your location.
The apps you specified will no longer be able to access your precise location all the time. And When the location is open, you can sometimes see the location icon on the taskbar.
Clear location history using Settings
It’s time to delete location history.
3- In Settings > Privacy > Location, scroll down to the Location history section, click the Clear button under Clear history on this device.
