You can change the size of the icons on your Windows computer’s desktop. And, in case you don’t like the newly sized icons on your desktop, you can always revert back to the old settings and get the default size back for your desktop icons too. If you want to make your icons smaller to fit more shortcuts on your desktop, or increase the size of icons so you don’t have to squint, here’s how to do it.
How to Change the Icon Size in Windows
We all have our own choice when it comes to how big or small the icons should look on our screen.
1- Right-click on an empty space on the desktop.
2- Select View and you’ll have three icon sizes to choose from Large icons, Medium icons (default) or Small icons. Clicking switch between on any of these options will increase or decrease the size of your desktop icons. And after selecting an icon size, the icons on the desktop resize automatically.
Alternatively
On the desktop, press and hold Ctrl while you mouse scroll the wheel to make icons larger or smaller.
Notes:
1- Your current Windows icon size setting has a black dot next to it in the menu.
2- Changing the size of the icons on the desktop doesn’t affect the size of the icons elsewhere in Windows.
